Senate Judiciary Committee Approves FBI Director Nominee

Senator Durbin urges DOJ to investigate his role in FBI “purge.”

The Senate Judiciary Committee approved President Donald Trump’s nominee, Kash Patel, for Federal Bureau of Investigation director on Thursday.

Ranking member of the committee, Senator Dick Durbin of Illinois, called on the Department of Justice to investigate whether Patel played a role in the recent firing of FBI employees.

Senator Durbin wrote to Inspector General Michael Horowitz, “I have received highly credible information from multiple sources that Kash Patel has been personally directing the ongoing purge of career civil servants at the Federal Bureau of Investigation.” He called for the alleged misconduct to be investigated.

Nominee Patel stated before the hearing panel that he was unaware of plans to fire a number of the bureau’s agents.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
